This is book number two for the Blocks. Both Clem and Ruth suffered
the loss of their first spouses and gone on to find themselves again; and
then, to find each
other Clem has written
the poems; Ruth has done the artwork.
Clem is a poet in the tradition of Edgar A. Guest and Douglas Malloch,
who were poets of the humanities, matters of the human touch. Clem
H. Block is on the same wave length.
From his seventy-nine years of abundant living as farm boy, School teacher,
scholar, public speaker, sportsman, coach, gardener, traveler, attorney,
soldier, churchman, husband, father, citizen. Clem has put it all
into magic moments of verse ......1,250 poems, so far. His poetry
is his autobiography. on his heart string fiddle he plays poems,
that make us smile, laugh, weep, aspire, love, hope, give,
believe, and understand.
he makes our own memories come alive. Mentally we dance along
with him, to his tune, as we read his words.
Ruth Block with her gift for the "seeing eye," captures beauty for
us in her paintings. Critics praise her technique and attention to
detail. her landscapes are so real, one can go for a walk in them.
Clem's poems inspire Ruth's paintings. Ruth's paintings inspire Clem's
poems. Together they have given us this book to cherish, to live
with, to think about, to enjoy. This book is part of Clem and Ruth,
and they are delighted to share it with us.
